Spring Trend: Orange Lips

Orange lips are everywhere on the runway this season, from Marc Jacobs to Ohne Titel, indicating that it's going to be a major hit once the warmer weather comes around. Orange lips will instantly brighten your look and look fresh, as long as it's worn correctly. While an opaque neon orange may look too over the top and trendy at the workplace or school, soft peaches and corals will be perfect for the spring season.

Lip Stains:

Lip stains are a great option if you don't want to worry about touch-ups during the day. Lip stains literally just stain your lips, therefore you won't feel any stickiness or tackiness on your lips. Lip stains have a bad rap for causing dryness and chapped lips, but the new formulas being released are getting more moisturizing every season.

Stila Lip & Cheek Stain - Mango Crush

Stila Lip & Cheek Stains have gotten amazing reviews for their intense pigmentation and conveniance. The stains come in a clicker pen type packaging, and the product is deposited through the middle of the brush. These are perfect for just throwing in your purse and creating a look on the go, as they can be used on both lips and cheeks. The shade Mango Crush is on point with the spring trends being described as a "sheer coral".

Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint - Joy

LipSurgence&#153 Natural Lip Tint

Tarte Natural Lip Tints boast themselves on being revolutionary with the lip stain trend. They claim to improve moisture content in your lips by 6000%. Whether that claim is true or not, Tarte's Natural Lip Tints have gained a great reputation since it's release in 2009. They've even come out with two other formulations: matte and shimmer. The shade "Joy" is described as a "peach" shade and is a lovely variation of the orange lip trend this spring. If you're looking for an orange based option in the shimmer formulation, check out "Glisten".

Lipglosses:

Nars Lipgloss - Giza

I personally love NARS lipglosses. They are pigmented, last a long time, and aren't too sticky or tacky on my lips. The shade "Giza" is described as a nectar shade, and it's a great sheer, wearable variation to the popular trend.

Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss - Temper and Mistress

Intense Lipgloss

Illamasqua's Intense Lipglosses are just that, intense. This isn't exactly a wearable day time shade meant for the workplace or school, but if you're looking to spice up your nighttime look, this is the perfect way to go! The shade Temper is an orange-red shade more suitable for warmer skintones, whereas Mistress is a bright tangerine perfect for cooler skin tones. Brighter, more pigmented glosses require more upkeep and are susceptible to bleeding so make sure to apply a skin toned lip liner beforehand.

Lipsticks:

NARS Lipstick - Barbarella

Lipstick

NARS Lipsticks are famous for their high quality and luxurious feel. They last a long time, and leave lips feeling smooth and moisturized. Also, I love the lipstick's sleek and chic packaging. The colour Barbarella is a sheer peach, and is very wearable during the day. It's neutral toned, so anyone can pull it off and it's the perfect colour to ease yourself slowly into the eye catching orange lips trend.

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artiste Intense Lipstick - #40

Rouge Artist Intense

Make Up For Ever is always a reliable brand for high quality bright products, and Rouge Artiste Intense lipsticks are no exception. The shade #40 is described as a "satin bright orange" and judging from lip swatches, it's just that. This, like the Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss, is not a shade for the daytime unless of course you're comfortable rocking it. This is the perfect shade to brighten up your look and place the focus on your lips for a night out.

Drugstore:

Buying an orange lipstick from the drugstore is a great idea if you're not sure you're going to like the trend. It's inexpensive, and you won't have to worry about wasting a lot of money on a trend that might not be so popular next season. There are drugstore lipsticks and lipglosses out there with quality comparable to higher end options!

CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick - Rapture

These lipsticks from Cover Girl are a new release and are receiveing a lot of hype in the beauty buzz. The moisturizing, shiny formula is reportedly very similar to MAC Lipsticks in the Lustre finish in quality. There's a huge shade range, but my focus today is on Rapture, a gorgeous pearly coral colour. This lipstick is very wearable during the day and is a great inexpensive option to test out the orange lips trend this spring.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Coral Reef

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipglosses are arguably the best quality drugstore lipglosses available. They're very pigmented, smooth and last a long time for only a fraction of the price of high end lipglosses. The shade Coral Reef is a sheer bright coral and is perfect for brightening up your look.
